MOHE Study visit at CIMEA

CIMEA hosted a delegation of the Ministry of Higher Education of Sri Lanka in the framework of EU co-funded project RecoASIA at its premises from 25th to 27th September.

The study visit held in Rome represented an opportunity to share experience and knowledge about the recognition process in the perspective of the establishment of a National Information Centre in Sri Lanka.

In addition to this, CIMEA and MOHE had the chance to discuss relevant topics such as digitalisation connected to recognition of qualifications and recognition of refugees’ qualifications, digital tools to support the work of credential evaluators and education fraud.

Study visit in Rome

The study visit held in Rome from 10th to 14th October 2022 was organised in the framework of the RecoASIA EU co-funded project, and its main aim was to facilitate a meeting opportunity and an occasion to exchange practices related to the recognition of qualifications. Participants had the possibility to know more about the education systems and recognition workflow from CIMEA (Italy) and HARNO (Estonia). Moreover, the National Reports, realised by both Ministries and higher education institutions of partner countries, were presented. Within the programme of the study visit, participants attended a training session on document fraud organised by the Italian Professional Association of Credential Evaluators (APICE), relevant for the project activities linked to the WP5 – Establishing rules and guidelines for evaluating non-traditional, TNE and distance learning institutions and analysing the diploma mill phenomenon.

CIMEA and HARNO visit VN-NARIC

On 5th October 2022 the Vietnam National Academic Recognition Information Centre (VN-NARIC) hosted credential evaluators from CIMEA (Italy) and HARNO (Estonia)for a study visit.

The main objective of the meeting was to share information on the countries’ educational systems, with a focus on the practical side of the issue of international recognition of qualifications.

After a presentation of the Vietnam Education System and Degree recognition in Vietnam, the procedures and the challenges of the Vietnamese system of recognition have been discussed.

The event proved fruitful and represents another important step taken in synergy to strive for the common goals identified by the RecoASIA project.

CIMEA study visit at MNCEA

In the framework of the RecoASIA project, from 11th to 15th September 2022, a delegation from CIMEA visited MNCEA offices in Ulaanbaatar, where the Mongolian NIC has been established in June 2022. The main objective of the study visit was to learn more about recognition procedures and methodologies in place in the respective centres.

On 12th and 13th September, delegations from both centres have been engaged in meetings at the EU Delegation offices in Mongolia and at the Ministry of Education and Science in Mongolia. CIMEA shared with colleagues from Mongolia its experience in carrying out the functions of National Information Centre.

During the following day, CIMEA and MNCEA collaborated and exchanged views to define the future plan for the Mongolian NIC.
